California Leased by Saudi Arabia

Today, the California legislature voted unanimously in favor of leasing the state to Saudi Arabia for $120 billion to be paid over a period of 4 years.

"We are very happy to provide a solution to California's problems," said Saudi spokesperson Undula Kamifi.

"We had no choice," said district 7 representative Zack Whack. "It was either that or lease to Bill Gates."

According to the agreement, California agrees to send 1,000,000 residents to Saudi Arabia to serve as hotel staff during tourist season.

"We need labor," Kamifi said, "and California can provide an incentive for tourism. We know the beautiful transplanted people of California will be an enticement for many to come and visit our humble desert."

"It worked in Vegas," Kamifi added.

California, in turn, would be responsible for encouraging higher emissions from its residents' motor vehicles. The state is also required to offer incentives to persons who purchase vehicles that average 12 MPG or less.

Hybrids would be outlawed for a period of 4 years.
