Who knows how these seasons preside
Post-spring what appears?
It's autumn, my dears!
But fall really follows the pride.

Something Like Fall

Cold is a feeling
It’s wet and windy
Something akin to
Distant friendly

My skin it bumps
Alerts reacting
Arms retracting
In coat I’m fastening
The fall is fattening
Sipping sultry soulful soup
And the ahhhh’s have it…

Warm is a feeling
It calls for needing
Something akin to
Cold retreating.

Fatigue comes fast like rain
Even handed and no prejudice
Whirlwind spins slowly and simply
Until
Mind finds purchase in pillow
Soft and easy leads to fall
And summer is gone again.
