Likely in the Woods

(to the tune Hungry Like the Wolf)
My elbows are bent, and the knees are apart
The head is centered, my friends cringe in the cart
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
I swing so softly and the ball flies away
The sun it blinds me, turning day into grey
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

I divot the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
I hear a small sound, I hear it fall down.
And it’s likely in the woods.
I can’t take my time behind there’s a line
I'm on the hunt I'm after you.
This ball I won’t find, won’t walk through those vines
Cos’ it’s likely in the woods.
.
Lost in the forest and no way to see
The brush is thicker than I’d like it to be
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
My friends are putting, saying just drop the ball
Determination enters before the fall
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

I crawl on the ground
You little ball I'm after you
I hear a strange sound. Is that a snake that I found?
And it’s likely in the woods.
I make a beeline to a cart that’s not mine
I cry that the snake will eat you too.
Mouth has gone dry, I’m shaking inside
No need to find what’s in the woods.

My ball is in the woods.
A snake is in the woods.
I won’t go in the woods.

Dropping the ball now I’ve seen it all
It bounces higher than it should
I hear that same sound. A ball rolling down
And it’s likely in the woods.
And here’s the rub as I throw out the clubs
I am ticked off, I’m feeling blue
In the lake they did fly, those clubs that weren't mine.
I was aiming at the woods.
